Addiction is the first enemy within all of us. All of us are addicted to something in life. Be it in drinking, smoking, drugs, girls, computers, games, the list is endless. Some people might fell in to such addictions following their idol, and some due to their surroundings. Being a young man myself, I do know the good and bad outcomes of addiction. I have seen people going for councelling and all to get rid of such addictions. Some people may get help from all these things and some may not.
The best way to get rid of whatever addiction you have is through self-analysis. All it can be started with 2 questions that we need to ask ourselves. 1. Where am I supposed to be? 2. Where am I now?
Being a Typical young man myself, I too had addicted to many things in life. Now am slowly getting out it as I realize that this is not the place where am supposed to be. Some people may think that it's too late for a change. But I tell you that it's never too late.
I started my lonely life in Singapore when I was 18, and from that moment itself nothing went right for me. Being away from my family at such young age affected my life style so much, as there was none to take care of me. Initially I was really happy to meet Keralites here, but gradually it turned to be something I was really scared off. lol
Like any other guy who is away from home, me too started to spoil myself. I wanted to try out everything in life, coz I didn want to regret for not trying out when I turn back to my past, years after. At that time I didnt regret for whatever wrong things I did. But I never thought that trying out such things can lead to such an addiction which is very hard to give up.
Then I never realized that there will be one day that I need to turn back and regret for such kind of thinking. It was really shocking and I feel like the whole world is laughing at me. I wanted to give up everything and start a fresh life. But It was not that easy as I think.
But anyhow I managed to come out of the darkest side and feel relieved.
We all have the ability to think and at any point of time if we use it in the right way, it's never too late for a change.
Going for councelling can't change a person unless he really want to. And if he really want to change, he don't need to seek the help of a councellor.

Rice for 3 rupees. Is that those people who is said to be below the poverty line? It is really good to hear that government is considerable about the people who are struggling in between life and death. But how long government will be providing the rice and other food products for them for cheaper rates. This may give them a temporary relief for them but when we are thinking about a long term relief the government fails to fulfill their needs by a big margin. What they need is a stable job. Recently there have been a lot of mega projects were announced by both public and private sectors which can provide job opportunities for millions. Some of those have been inaugurated and are shelved by the dirty game of politics. And some are on the edge of being shelved.
It is really good to see a lot of residential, commercial and tourism projects are lined up to boost the infrastructure of the state. At the same time its painful to see those projects which can create millions of job opportunities are being shelved or moving in a slow pace. If the government really want to do something from the bottom of their heart please try to speed up those projects so that they can get a job and a long term relief.
I would like to mention the issues created/raised up by some political parties when Big Bazaar had opened their commercial complex outlet in Trivandrum. But you can see a good number youngsters who were wandering along the streets are working over there to support themselves and their family. And no stationary/retail shops were closed because of this Big Bazaar. But it helped a lot people to earn for their daily needs. As a result now Big Bazaar is going to open their third outlet in Trivandrum itself. And until now no other shops by which some people are earning their living, were closed.
If considerably a small retail complex like Big Bazaar can provide this much job opportunities, think of those projects which can provide millions of jobs those are lined up like, Vizhinjam Deep Water Port and associated factories/companies and a lot more.
Don't you think that these people deserves a better life? These are some of the snaps I get through an email. And it is really painful. Pictures speaks a thousands words.

Will Dr. Shashi Tharoor live up to our expectations. Only time will tell us the whole story. But I seriously think that he can make a difference. Like I mentioned in my last post urging all of you the importance of voting for Shashi Tharoor, he may not change the whole system in a single day. But I strongly believe that he can slowly but steadily can make a big difference in Trivandrum. So please wait and watch the rest of the show. Mean time I expect some of the things that Dr. Shashi Tharoor to do in our beutiful place. I will post the detailed list of my views and expectations as an NRI in my upcoming posts. India, a country which is having the oldest of civilization and a great culture. But where we are standing now. Indeed need a serious thought about it. We hailed from a great civilization and culture. But the way people exploiting it is in a negative way. When the Great Gandhiji brought us freedom about 62 years back, he would not have thought that India would fall under the current circumstances. Poverty is not the only thing that we are fighting against now! The list is endless.
The deadliest enemy that we have to fight against is within us, the way we think. Even I know the people who curses Gandhiji for bringing us freedom. "India would have get freedom by now even if there was no MohanDas KaramChand Gandhi. And there would n't be having slavery and violence to Indians from British as earlier as UN were formed in early 80's. India would have been a better place to live, more developed in any aspects. A good example is Hong Kong. " This is what some people have to say about our freedom. The people have seen the growth of Hong Kong will certainly think this way. Shocking! Isn't it?
To those people I just have to ask one thing. Are we lack the potential and manpower to do the same what British would have done? We have it in us and we don't use it! why do we need to depend on British or US to help us with the technology and wisdom when we are blessed with enough resources, potential and manpower. This is where we need some serious thinking. We have a great new generation who are ready to prove the world what Indians are all about. Some of them are not coming forward as they want someone to start the proceedings and some are migrating to the foreign countries to work and earn their living once they finished their bachelor or master degree. The reason they have to say is because of the lack of opportunities in India. But for the last few years we can see a dip in those people migrating to other countries for job and living. A good sign for India's future. And we had to wait very long to realize the meaning of what Swami Vivekanandan said about 100yrs back, "My faith is in younger generation".
I happened to see this video in Youtube and it inspired me alot. Take a look.

I am not an expert in current Political situation in Kerala. But am the same 'Stupid Common Man' (The Famous Term used by Nasarudheen Shah in A Wednesday movie)like you all. Recently I read an email about the educational qualifications of our current ministers. At first I had a good laugh at it. But later I could realize that there is a lot to think about it. I was wondering when I read newspapers and find the articles on the boom of India, and not to mention China of course. As a Keralite my first priority to look in to will be our state Kerala, so called Gods Own Country. I couldn't see any developments or so called boom, happening in our state. But could find a lot about other states in India.
Are the Central Government ignoring Kerala? the answer is 'NO'. They are doing everything what they are doing for other states. But the truth is we the stupid common men are not getting any benefits from that due to our own state Government, by delaying a lot of useful projects and spending the central govt. funds for their own benefits. Who is responsible for all these. The answer is 'We The Stupid Common Men'.
We have a 'traditional' tendency to blame our Government for every single thing. If so why do we still vote for them. We have been ruled by those criminals who are involved in all those anti-indian acticity like smuggling, terrorism and a lot more. We know about it and we still vote for them. Why? What we need now is Ministers who is capable of Developing our state. I don't expect the corruption to get swept away in a single day. But we need some changes in it. I really pity those youngsters who blindly follow the current political leaders and making silly riots and die for them. The only way we can overcome all these is by a leader who is educated and creative in his own perspective. At the current situation my answer for that leader is Mr. Shashi Tharoor. As many people think me too don't expect him to change the whole system in one day. But why don't we give him a chance to prove himself right. We have been voting to those criminals till date and we know about the outcome. Am not favoring any political party, but I see the potential in Shashi Tharoor as a Leader. Think about it.
Some of us may not be Familiar with Mr. Shashi Tharoor, for those there is a lot of resources and articles to know him in web, or by his own books like 'Midnight to Millennium' etc. So people it's time to wake up and start thinking.
Expecting your comments and views.
